Permit requirements will vary by location and can be rather complicated. For example, Travis County has a permit process if you live inside the county. However, if you’re in the city of Austin, the city overrides whatever process the county has. There are some incorporated areas within Austin which require the county permit and not the city permit. Sometimes places have water district requirements. In Lake Way, which is within Travis County, they have water district requirements and county permits. The best thing you can do is assume a permit will be required regardless of where your project resides. Bat City Builders can handle any permits you may need for whatever your project might be.

The length of time depends on the scope and complexity of the project, as well as the state of the industry. Some materials take much longer to obtain than others. We don't begin a project until we have a well-thought-out plan. We create a comprehensive schedule that details everything that occurs during your project. We consider any time delays, labor requirements, and additional unknowns while planning the schedule in order to come up with an approximate project completion date.

Thanks to our weather in Texas, there’s not a wrong time to start a project, although things tend to be a little less congested around the Holidays. 

If you or someone in your household suffers from asthma or other breathing or hearing-related illnesses, we would strongly advise you to seek alternative housing. We use air filtration units on-site to keep things as safe as possible, but it's difficult to keep everything completely debris-free. 

When working on a large-scale project involving multiple rooms or large living areas, we request that the house be left vacant so that the work can proceed without interruption and your daily life is not disrupted.

There could be lead concerns in a house built before 1978, but we’re capable of handling lead and asbestos if those are present during your project.
